The console is a black box with a small LCD display, numerical keys and a few other buttons that is located under the counter or near the keyboard.
Enter Passcode > 000000 (Default passcode, if this has been changed you will need to find out what it has been changed to, otherwise you cannot configure it to work with Idealpos) > 4: System > 5: Config B > Write down current Config B.
To configure Config B to communicate with Idealpos, we may need to change two options:
XXXXXXXXXXXX
This field (field 12) defines if a UPS is connected to the system. As the Idealpos interface uses the UPS COM port, the UPS option needs to be disabled, so set this to 0.
XXXXXXXXXXXX
This field (field 6) specifies the Idealpos communications type. There are two options:
2 - No handshaking. The FC6000 will blindly send the data out the COM port. If Idealpos is not running or a cashier is not logged on, the data will be sent and cleared from the FC6000 but will not be received by Idealpos, not recommended.
3 - Handshaking. The FC6000 will check if Idealpos is ready to receive data. If Idealpos is not running or a cashier is not logged on, the FC6000 will not send the sale and will advise to "Check POS". If Idealpos is running and a cashier is logged on, the FC6000 will send the sale through to Idealpos.
Change these options as required and press Enter to save. Reboot FC6000 (there is no on/off switch, you need to unplug the device). This setup should allow sales to be brought down and when you press Enter, they are sent to Idealpos.
This should allow for the sales to be brought down from the pump to the sales window, then to simply press Enter on the keyboard for the sale to be sent to Idealpos.
The codes that are used for Config A and Config B indicate the devices attached to the console and how they interact. Not all devices are the same and some troubleshooting may be required.
